Biography and Literary Vision
Fulvio Kostas is a pen name that gives voice to a narrative journey.
In everyday life, he is an engineer born in Catania, Sicily. He built his professional background between Milan and the United States during the emergence of the Internet and mobile communications. After many years in the telecommunications sector, he founded and led his own company in Milan.
I was born and raised in Sicily.
I have never thought of it as something to proclaim, yet it remains deeply woven into who I am. It is a place that stays with you, even when you are far away from it, leaving a silent connection made of habits, rhythms, and an instinctive way of feeling and understanding life.
My family roots are diverse. On my father’s side, there is a Greek heritage: a grandfather who arrived in Italy carrying more silence than stories. What remains are gestures, restraint, and a sense that life is more about the journey than the destination. On my mother’s side, there is a northern lineage: a Scandinavian grandmother and a mother from Milan, raised in a culture shaped by distance, order, and continuity.
Across the Mediterranean, continental Europe, and the United States, I developed a perspective that does not seek easy synthesis, but instead embraces differences and tensions. A disposition toward movement rather than a single, defining root.
My writing does not tell my biography, although it draws inspiration from experiences I have genuinely lived. Reality becomes material for fiction. Events are not recounted as they happened, but through the imprint they left on relationships and on the people involved.
Writing did not begin as a vocation. It emerged as a consequence. There comes a moment when experience asks for a form of its own, when simply moving forward is no longer enough, because not everything is resolved by time.
The Dissonance of the Pendulum is the first tangible outcome of this journey.

A New Season Begins
I spent most of my life in technology, in entrepreneurship, and in that world of action and enterprise that rarely watches the clock, always focused on building something for the future and helping businesses grow.
Until one day — though not without disappointment — I came to realize that society rarely notices what this demands of those who choose that path: the sacrifices behind it, the personal compromises, the loneliness, and the profound impact it can have on one’s life. To many, the results simply appear, as if they had always been there.
Today, I feel I have earned the right to explore a different dimension of life. And, in my own way, I try to tell these stories in the hope of restoring a little awareness: showing that effort never belongs to one side alone, and that behind many of the things we take for granted there is always someone who once pursued a dream, who worked, struggled, and took risks so that dream could become reality and, above all, be shared with others.
